Overview
Ves is designed with privacy as a core principle. We use zero-knowledge encryption, which means we cannot access your sensitive data even if we wanted to.
What we collect
- Account information: Email address, name, and payment information for billing
- Encrypted data: Handoff content is encrypted in your browser. We only store encrypted blobs.
- Access logs: IP addresses and timestamps for security and audit purposes
- Usage data: Anonymous analytics to improve our service
What we cannot see
- Your handoff passphrases (we only store a hash for verification)
- The contents of your credentials, notes, or files
- Any data encrypted with your passphrase
How we use your data
- To provide and maintain our service
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To send important service notifications
- To improve our service based on anonymous usage patterns
Data retention
Active handoffs are retained as long as your account is active. Expired handoffs are deleted after 90 days. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.
Third parties
We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe: For payment processing
- Email provider: For transactional emails
These services only receive the minimum data necessary to provide their service.
